Visiting a mangosteen orchard
In many country sides of southeast Asian countries, you can often arrange to visit a mangosteen orchard. There, you will find many mangosteen trees bearing reddish or purplish fruits high on tall branches. You can walk to the mangosteen trees and see how beautiful they are. Sometimes, you can even pick the mangosteen fruit yourself. Otherwise, there will be someone to pick for you so that you can see what a mangosteen fruit looks like that is just picked off of a tree.
A raw mangosteen fruit is still green on the outside whereas a ripe mangosteen fruit is purple on the outside.
